So I popped my SNES version of FF4 in this morning, looking forward to replaying it over the weekend. First time I do, though, I get a weird red and black screen. I figure it's a wire issue, so I turn off, replug stuff in, turn on again. Game works this time...
with 3 out of 4 files GONE. This includes the one I'd been saving from when I was like, six years old, +2 super files I'd been working on over the course of a few months scattered across the years. Those I don't really care about, but man, the SNES already ate my super old Legend of Zelda files in a similar way (I got a new copy of the system a couple years back, so I didn't think it'd end up pulling the same shenanigans). Oh SNES, why'd you have to go for what was nearest and dearest to me when I have given you so much love and use? A monument of my childhood, gone before I knew it ;_; WEEP. I love the older systems, really, but the memory card was a fantastic invention.
